You can make an identical character and trade over all your weapons, won't be able to keep armors or the same name though (unless you delete the other one first). Starter armor can be sold to vendors, but only for 1 copper. Level-up reward gear has to be deleted, you can't do anything else with it. Armor you pick up as loot should be able to be sold to vendors, or you can right-click "sell on trading post" and then click instant sell to usually get a bit more than vendor price.I am having the exact same issue. I purchased gems just fine and got them. But when I go to the black lion trading company to purchase gold - or even to spend the gold I have to buy items it says "temporarily unavailable: purchase in review" on everything. I basically can't use the trading company at all.
