Wanted to do a quick screen comparison of all my GBA SPs, since I happened to have 2 of each screen type I figured I could show the different brightness rang
Tried to Google it and could only find replacement LCDs that supposedly work for both my old GBA SP (AGS-001) and the brighter GBA SP (AGS-101). I'm rather skeptical about the compatibility since I've read that the screens from AGS-001 and AGS-101 are not interchangeable, and that some LCDs DO NOT include the front lit display.
32 to 34 Pin Ribbon Cable for GBA Game Boy Advance LCD Screen to GBA SP Console. Regular price $12.99 Game Boy Advance SP AGS-101 IPS Replacement LCD Panel.
Step 7. Be careful not to tear the ribbon cable that's connected to the screen. If you tear it, games will not appear on the device's screen! Flip the motherboard up and rest it on the other half of the device, so that the back of the buttons are visible as seen in the picture. One comment.
You can have a 32 or 40 pin GBA -and- a 32 or 40pin SP 101 screen. So with the cable I linked you need to match 32 pin GBA to 32 pin 101 screen and order the 32 pin cable. If I were you I would find a 32 pin GBA to match my 32 pin 101 screen and use a 32 pin cable. Or I will research the extra brightness switch cable and order that.
