Remove “Reveal map” settings when creating lobby and force all melee games to have default. For custom maps and campaigns this should be an option which the map maker decides what setting is most suited. Remove “Handicap” setting in lobby and force all games to have 100% for all players. Remove “Game speed” setting when creating lobby and force all games to be the fastest game
The only solution that comes to mind is sticking to classic maps that were created back in classic world editor. Those maps should be opening fine on reforged too, but as soon as you save them using reforged editor, they become only playable on reforged, so take your pick carefully. Im giving up on warcraft 3.
Warcraft 3 Reforged has been an amazing improvement for me and my friends. For years it was absolutely impossible to play 4v4 Arranged Team in Warcraft 3. No matter how long you searched or when you did it, you could not find a game. If you scheduled very carefully, you could maybe play one 3v3 game a week on Northrend if you hit the peak euro
And to be honest, Warcraft III Patch 1.31 has most of the problems that I just cited in Reforged already added to it. So there was that patch that was basically Reforged, but it still looked like the old 2002 Reign of Chaos in the menus and in the way the modding technologies worked. And I did not hear nearly as many people complain about that
A lot of work had been done by HotS team in the Alterac scenario: All units still look modern and easily distinguishable. I understand that hit boxes and units blocking work differently between the two games, but we could argue about how much development time would require to simulate warcraft’s units behaviour in HotS (and SCII) engine.
My fps can swing pretty wildly between 60-150. It'll most likely vastly improve for release anyway, but your does fps seems really low. In menus I have like 25 fps too though. I like the menus (some people seem not to) but they sure have especially terrible performance right now. 1.
